Classroom – Information & Policies
Classroom at The Next Street
This is not your father’s driving school. Our classroom instructors take a dreaded State Requirement, and turn it into a fun and memorable learning experience. While our curriculum is wonderful, the real difference maker is how our outstanding team delivers that curriculum, and you’ll notice it from the first moment you enter our classroom. Pair that with the most flexible classroom scheduling options and you have just one more reason we are known as the Easiest Road to a License.
Please note: Instructors reserve the right to revoke attendance for reasons including, but not limited to; tardiness, disruption, lack of participation, technical issues, leaving early, and inappropriate behavior. We will not jeopardize the quality learning of the group for the poor behavior of a few.
In-Person Classroom
All classes are taught in person and can be scheduled in any of our classroom locations! The State of Massachusetts requires 16 and 17 year olds to take a 30-hour Full Driver Education Course in order to be eligible for a license.
- Participation: You must complete the full 2-hour class session. Instructors take attendance multiple times. Active participation means answering questions, joining activities, and completing in-class quizzes.
- Parent/Guardian Requirement: If you’re under 18, a parent/guardian must complete a 2-hour Parent Class. If done within the past 5 years, provide the certificate. Parent Class must be completed before booking any driving or observation lessons.
- Signature Requirement: Every student must sign off on their attendance for each class. A parent/guardian must sign attendance for the Parent Class.
- Final Exam Requirement: To finish the program, you must pass a 50-question final exam with a score of 80% or higher. Classes 1–15 must be completed before you take the exam.
